The couple that recently hit the news headlines after allegedly raping the woman’s teenage daughter find themselves at the back of other allegations.
Earlier charges are that the woman’s partner raped her teenage daughter and no police report was made.
They concealed the rapes which took place thereafter until the teenager was brave enough to break her silence on the abuses.
Police spokesperson Col Donald Mdhluli said the girl’s 43-year-old stepfather and her biological mother, 35, were charged for her rape in Pienaar.
They had hidden the rape away for years and the girl eventually ran away from home and sought refuge at an unknown man’s house.
The man took her in but it was not with pure intentions. He went on to force himself on her.
“Some members of the community alerted the authorities during the beginning of this past week. The case was opened and the matter was investigated by the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit in Pienaar.”
The couple has now made the news headlines yet again. This time they are being charged with an even more serious offence.
They are being charged with the murder of a young toddler.
“This development comes after the remains of a child was exhumed in Pienaar at a place where the young girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather while assisted by her own biological mother,” said the police spokesperson.
It is still not clear what led to the child’s death and why the couple concealed it.
Mdluli added that the child was reported missing and the parents of the child are undocumented immigrants from Mozambique.
