Kaizer Chiefs opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Reeve Frosler and took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break.
Orlando Pirates equalised in the 54th minute through Kwame Peprah, but Eric Mathoho scored the winner in the 81st minute to give bragging rights to the Glamour Boys.
In terms of the DStv Premiership log, Amakhosi moved up to second place spot with 35 points after 19 matches (2 others still pending), while Orlando Pirates stayed in fourth place with 32 points after 22 matches.
Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action at home against Golden Arrows on Saturday, 19 March at 19:30.
