Two women have been arrested and charged with rape after they were caught on the wrong side of the law.
The Namibian woman have already appeared before the Oshakati magistrates court were their charges were read out.
It is alleged that Anatolia Petrus (29) and Rauha Pinhas (33) took advantage of their neighbours condition and sexually assaulted him.
They applied for bail but it was turned down by the courts as the state has a very strong case against them.
Petrus and Pinhas were arrested earlier this week when the victim’s aunt reported the case to the police.
The aunt stated that the victim is not of sound mind and he is mentally unstable. He narrated his ordeal when he got home.
It is alleged the accused lured the victim into their house and sexually assaulted him on different occasions.
The victim would keep quiet about it and his aunt noticed a difference in his behavior which is what incited her to investigate.
She got the shock of her life when he revealed that it had been going on for a long time.
During the court hearing, State Prosecutor Yeukai Kangira contended what the accused allegedly did was unlawful and intentional, emphaising it is a serious offense classified as gender based violence.
The two women will be back in court on the 28th of September for the continuation of the trial.
They are yet to plead but they will remain in custody until their next court appearance. This effectively means that they will spend their entire winter locked up behind bars.
