A daring criminal attempting to carry out a heist on Rob Quintas, a prominent member of the Cape Town government, was left questioning his own masculinity after receiving a gunshot wound to the penis. The incident occurred when officers from the City of Cape Town’s VIP unit retaliated, shooting back at the criminal as he fired shots at their vehicle.
According to reports, officer Quintas and his team emerged from the shootout unharmed, thanks to the skilled marksmanship of the officers. One of the criminals was injured in the crossfire, and the officers successfully retrieved his weapon. In an interview with the Daily Voice, Quintas explained that he and his team were conducting site visits in the area when they accidentally took a wrong turn into Platinum Close. Suddenly, they were startled by the sound of gunfire. Quintas described how his protector instructed them to take cover while engaging the assailants.
Local residents informed them that the injured criminal had been apprehended by the Central Improvement District and a local security company, while his accomplice managed to escape. Quintas confirmed that despite being shot in the arms and groin, the criminal was able to walk and assist the officers in locating the spot where he had discarded his firearm.
Although Quintas believes he was not the intended target, a source suggested that the incident may have been an opportunistic theft or hijacking attempt. The police have initiated an investigation into the attempted hijacking and confirmed that the injured criminal is currently under police guard in the hospital, while his accomplice remains at large. The recovered firearm will serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing case.
