A video circulating on social media shows a female supporter of Zweli Mkhize crying after the former minister of health was not elected. The video has garnered both sympathy and mixed reactions, as people conclude that politics is not for the faint-hearted. In the video, the lady was seen pressing her phone, using it to console herself.
Her colleague was trying to talk to her, but she wouldn’t pay attention. The emotional lady could be seen wiping her tears with the back of her hands, as she tried to curtail an outburst of emotions. The man who posted this video wrote, “Dr Mkhize supporter in tears after he lost to Ramaphosa #ANCElects2022”.
Some people have been setting out to advise her to take it easy, even though they are yet to meet her in person. They are telling her to keep herself together because politics is a game, it is an up and down thing, and can move right or left. It could change tomorrow.

Nevertheless, it appears everything is becoming somehow a tribal thing. Some social media users are bent on heaping blames on those from KwaZulu-Natal. This is bad for the rainbow nation. Even this social media is saying, “Chest pains are on the rise there by the RET, they say ANC is gone because they actually think they are the ANC, that is the arrogance of ANC KZN”.
It appears the ANC is so embroiled in factional politics that competence makes no sense among the party’s hierarchy any more. A social media user observed, “Politics aren’t for ill-fainted heart. She’ll be fine. ANC is long gone, Zweli wasn’t going to bring it back but collapse it with the thieving RET”.
Another person added that the ANC is going to continue to lose votes until they are relegated to the position of an opposition political party. He noted that South Africans have been very patient with the ruling party, but they are taking it for granted. He noted that there is no need for the lady in question to be crying.
