Most people who have been hardcore members of the African national Congress can tell you that it is very strict when it comes to its policies. Over the years, we have seen many leaders go because of the actions that violated these policies. The same happened when The Party started applying its step aside resolution and the party lost a lot of leaders. Now 6 leaders of the African national congress have been fired with immediate effect after they violated it’s NEC regulations.
Report
It is said that the mayor of the Nkomazi region Mpumalanga got fired together with 5 other members for breaking the rules. Below is a report from City Press stating the reason for this:
“According to the ruling and sanction report of the ANC provincial disciplinary committee, mayor Johan Mkhatshwa and the rest of the councillors were fired for breach of ANC membership oath, behaving in a manner that brought the ANC into disrepute”
What this all actually means is that the leader tried to elect new coming leaders in an illegal way. He did not want to follow the NEC guidelines to doing so and he was found to be guilty and everyone who had worked with was fired.
Opinion
This shows just how much the African national Congress cares about procedures being followed. The only problem however is that some other leaders seem to get away with breaking the rules and others don’t. Some are saying that there is a arrow favoritism and this decision to fire this six leaders could have been made by the opposition. Either way if the African national Congress continues to punish lawbreakers it will be a theme party again.
