Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene has given EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo 48 hours to withdraw what he calls “false and defamatory” social media posts or face legal action.

Kunene’s lawyers accuse Thambo of making malicious claims on X (formerly Twitter) between 8 and 10 October, alleging Kunene paid bail for Katiso “KT” Molefe, a suspect in DJ Sumbody’s murder, and was involved in irregular Rea Vaya bus contracts.

The letter demands a public apology, calling the allegations baseless and damaging to Kunene’s reputation.

In July, Kunene was briefly suspended from his MMC and party duties after being found at Molefe’s home during a police raid, but an independent investigation.
