Kaizer Chiefs have announced a mutual agreement to part ways with head coach Nasreddine Nabi. The decision comes amid a challenging personal period for the coach, following a recent accident involving his wife in Tunisia.
Nabi, who was in his second season with the club, had been granted compassionate leave and missed the first three games of the current campaign. He notably ended the club’s decade-long trophy drought during his tenure.
As a result of the mutual separation, Nabi will not be on the bench for the team’s upcoming CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifier against Angolan side Kabuscorp S.C.P. He is now expected to return to his homeland to be with his family. The club has not yet announced an interim coach or details about a permanent replacement.
