A shocking video has emerged of a Durban teacher being brutally beaten by “local thugs” in the school grounds during work.
In this shocking 30-second video, the teacher is seen being attacked by a group of men with golf clubs and clubs as students, teachers and support staff watch.
When he was on the ground, a man carrying a golf club came and continued to beat the teacher named Sandile Mkhize. The attackers left after beating the teacher.
Mkhize is one of the Deputy Principals at Dick Ndlovu High School in Zwelibomvu in the West of Durban.
According to the source who shared the video, this incident happened on the 31st of January.
“We don’t know why Mr Mkhize was attacked like this,” said the source who leaked the video to Scrolla.Africa. “We were all shocked to see a group of suspicious-looking men wearing shorts, vests and hats carrying sticks coming in to beat him.
The source said that it is suspected that Mkhize was beaten by “local thugs” who are known for causing trouble in the area.
Mkhize had to be rushed to the hospital after being beaten as he had bruises on his head, body and back.
He did not want to comment and referred all questions to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education.
The department’s spokesperson, Mr. Muzi Mahlambi, did not respond when asked about this matter and whether Mkhize had been counseled.
