Mpumalanga police are searching for a gunman who killed a man at an Ermelo gas station and stopped to retrieve bullet casings before driving away.
The victim was identified as Smangaliso Innocent Nkosi, 25 years old.
Police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said Nkosi and his friends were at the petrol station to fill up their car early on Sunday morning.
“A man they knew approached the victim and shot [him] multiple times, killing him.
The suspect then collected the cartridges and left the scene.

CCTV footage of the shooting has been widely shared on social media.
The victim smiled and chatted with friends before a man with a gun ran toward her.
He opened fire, after which passersby ran away.
The victim immediately collapsed, but the shooter continued to shoot until the room was empty.
He then walked around the gas station forecourt to collect and bag the used cartridges before leaving the premises while on a walk.
