A gospel singer who accuses Durban’s famous healer, Bhongolethu “Dr Khehlelezi” Mzo, of wanting to ‘shut him up’ is in hiding.
According to the source Njabulo Sibiya (34), from eNquthu in KwaZulu-Natal, the leader of a gospel music group called shikhanga, said his sin was that he wanted to reveal that in July 2021, he was drilled and his eye was removed when he was invited by Khehlelezi, to his church in Verulam.
Among the groups led by the singer of the faith are the Lovers of Beshikhanga, the Missionaries. and Two Families of God.
In an exclusive interview with Isolezwe on the weekend, Sibiya said that he was invited by Khehlelezi to perform at the service of his church, Jehovah’s Tree. Dr Khehlelezi REFUSED to answer for the allegations made by Njabulo Sibiya.
This is how the religious singer narrated: “He saw me crooning on YouTube and he said he liked the way I crooned. He then invited me to perform in his church. I came and fell asleep and it was fun and there will be a young man who will be awakened by the spirit. Then we stopped and bowed our heads. Then suddenly he came towards me and hit me with a sacrificial stick and my eye exploded.”
Sibiya said that blood came out and filled the whole house and then he was caught and thrown out the door. “Khehlelezi told me to be rushed to the hospital in Durban, McCord. I don’t know when I got there because I fainted. I woke up when Khehlelezi told the doctors that I injured my eye while chopping wood.”
The singer said Khehlelezi told him not to file a case against the person who hurt him because he has nothing. “He said that he will pay all the costs of my treatment and take care of me because I was injured in his church.”
He said he lost many things due to injuries in the service. He said he used to work as a caretaker in a student accommodation in Johannesburg, but he was fired because the management said he would be unable to use a computer.
He went on to say: “I ended up not being able to pay for the place I was staying in Johannesburg, the landlord kicked me out and took my belongings.” He said he tried to contact Khehlelezi as he had promised to take care of him but he did not sign his case.
“On the contrary, he has threatened me. He says that I go around talking bad about him to people. That’s why I decided to move there and hide in an unknown place because I’m being hunted by people I don’t know.”
He said Khehlelezi even sent him pictures of his sister’s children, and threatened to make them a monster if he didn’t stop talking about the eye issue.
Njabulo concluded by accusing Khehlelezi of gouging his eye which he said he took to the hospital. When Khehlelezi was asked about the allegations, he cut short and said “I will not comment.”
