In South Africa, kidnapping for ransom is taken very seriously by law enforcement agencies, and it is punishable under the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act of 2007.
Perpetrators convicted of this crime can face severe penalties, including imprisonment for a lengthy period of time. Recently, there has been so many cases of kidnapping where perpetrators contact the family of the victim and demand ransom. In most cases, perpetrators tend to kidnap Indian kids because they know that Indians can do anything for their children, just like what happened to the Moti brothers.
Since last week there has been a trending story of an Indian child who was kidnapped at thohoyandou, what was even more concerning about it was that the kidnappers were not contacting the family as everyone expected.
Yesterday police got an anonymous tip off about where the child is and indeed they followed the lead. On the arrival, the owner of the house jumped the fence and ran away, they failed to catch him. In his yard they found a car that was reportedly stolen a few days ago.
They then decided to conduct a search inside his house and they found the reportedly missing Indian boy tied and covered with a blanket so that he don’t see where he is. Police are asking for public assistance on finding the perpetrators. It is true that thohoyandou is no longer safe.
From the past weeks the crime rate in Thohoyandou has gradually increased. Some say it’s because the people who we stopping the crime at thohoyandou are the Jerusalem guys who are both dead
