Gauteng Province was hit by an earthquake in the early hours of Sunday morning. People went to social media and started to share pictures and videos of the damages caused by the earthquake. It seems like most of the damage occurred around the Benoni and Boksburg areas. The tremor hit Gauteng at about 2:39am today, causing standing structures to shake.
South Africa’s gospel sensation, Kholeka appears to be among those who suffered damage from the tremor. The singer took it to social media earlier today, sharing a video of how her house was affected by the tremor.
“I’m in Boksburg, this is what has happened to my house. Matthew 24 told us of what is to come.” She said. In the video, the walls of her house have cracked up and part of the ceiling is disjointed from the wall as well.
The fortunate part is that the musician did not report any injuries. It seems like the earthquake affected a greater part of Gauteng people from different locations expressed how they experienced the tremor.
“We also felt it in Bedfordview, but no structural damages this side. May God almighty restore.” A social media user responded to her.
Let’s pray and hope that there will be no fatalities reported as a result of the earthquake. May those who suffered damage get strength to rebuild their infrastructures. Hope our government will also intervene to help where necessary.
