A man has been sentenced to two life terms by the Madadeni District Court, for raping his two nephews, who are said to have been raped in different incidents between 2015 and 2019.
According to the source the 46-year-old man, who was sentenced last week, was said to be living with his two nephews who were between the ages of six and 13 at the time of the crime, as well as their grandmother. It is said that the 13-year-old girl was raped by her uncle twice in different incidents in 2015, which happened when her grandmother was still out visiting and the six-year-old was raped in 2019.
When the children was assaulted by their uncle, it is said that they were both at their home. It is said that he threatened them not to tell anyone when he finished raping them, but they finally managed to have the courage to come forward about what happened to them, and then he was arrested and charged with rape. When the Prosecutor in this case, Advocate Simphiwe Sicelo Hlela passed the statement of the 13-year-old victim, it was revealed that there was a time when he tried to kill himself because of this situation and that his studies were disrupted as he had to run away from them.
