RET bigwig, Carl Niehaus who was expelled from the African National Congress and later appealed the expulsion, had been escorted out of parliament premises where he is protesting that Ramaphosa must fall.
Carl Niehaus shared on social media that he was on his way to Cape Town to continue calling for president Cyril Ramaphosa to resign. He was also joined by other ANC comrades who were seen with placards calling that the ANC leader need to step down.
After he was escorted out of the premises of parliament, Carl Niehaus was being interviewed by the media from the other side. He said whether he is a full member of the ANC or not, he still has constitutional rights to freedom of speech as a South African citizen.
Carl Niehaus and other protestors were driven away outside the City Hall where the National Assembly will vote on the Section 89 independent panel report. The ANC comrades were however putting on brave fight as they were being driven off.
The RET champion said he will attend the ANC national conference as a delegate as he has launched an appeal against his expulsion. He is one comrade who has been relentless in his call for president Cyril Ramaphosa to step down.
“I have done so in front of NEC meetings. I will continue to do also on the 16th of December outside the Nasrec conference.
In fact I’m due to be a delegate at that conference since my membership is now back instated since I have appealed the expulsion. I intend to attend that conference as a delegate of the ANC,” said Carl Niehaus.
As the members of parliament are set to debate the Phala Phala report. Ramaphosa’s backers are threatening Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Lindiwe Sisulu and all those who will vote in favour of the report with action.
“And right before our very eyes the careers of Lindiwe Sisulu and one other come to a grinding halt. No one member of the ANC is bigger than the ANC, there is no royal family in the ANC – they will enter retirement,” said Hanekom.
