Political parties have expressed mixed feelings on the release of the Section 89 inquiry panel’s report probing whether President Cyril Ramaphosa has a case to answer in the Phala Phala farm theft.
Arthur Fraser says Ramaphosa’s business records would have to prove his assertions that the 4 million US dollars found under his bed came from his game farm proceeds in the form of an auction.
Retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo clarifies the role of Section 89 independent panel he chaired. “Our job was to interrogate the information that members of the (national) assembly saw fit to present to us… we could not go beyond that.”
Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s claims that former spy boss Arthur Fraser and Ace Magashule would testify in her defence appear to have come to nothing –as the suspended Public Protector began her case against impeachment with the evidence of a professional “roadie”.
