The South African Police Service (SAPS) members collaborated with different law enforcement entities to secure the successful arrest of a 43 year old male for possession of stolen copper, the suspect is currently detained in jail.
According to the saps news report yesterday, Wednesday, 16 November 2022 at around 02:00 am the Kimberley Flying Squad, K9, and Public Order Police members followed up on information they received about a suspect from Aliwal North who is believed to be transporting stolen copper cables.
Officers spotted the suspect’s Toyota Quantum on the Bloemfontein N8 road, the vehicle was stopped and a search was conducted which led to the successful discovery of stolen copper wires with and estimated street value of R2 million.
The 43 year old taxi driver was placed under arrest and detained in jail on charges for possession of suspected stolen copper wire and damage to essential infrastructure, he will soon make an appearance in court to face the mentioned charges.
