The fact that Advocate Dali Mpofu SC has not always had the best of luck in winning the bulk of the legal cases he has handled for a range of his politically exposed clients is not something that many people would argue against.
Some have questioned the famous lawyer’s legal skills after his losing streak in cases involving the former president Jacob Zuma, the Public Protector Advocate Busiswe Mkhwebane, and the suspended ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule.

In the meantime, Mpofu has finally prevailed in a legal case that is extremely significant for the ANC in the Free State.
The people’s advocate, as he is affectionately known, succeeded in persuading the Bloemfontein High Court that Mxolisi Dukwana and other interim regional committees have violated the ANC constitution, by purposefully refusing to allow branches to hold meetings in order to elect new leaders, and subsequently regional conferences.
He did this on behalf of three members who had grown disillusioned with the interim provincial committee led by Dukwana. As a result, because the structures’ terms of office have ended, they should be disbanded.
Those who support the RET brigade had expressed fears that Dukwana is determined to thwart attempts to convene BBGMs because his allies might not be elected.

Magashule and his camp want Sam Mashinini to win the position of provincial chairperson, however, Dukwana, who is a staunch support of President Cyril Ramaphosa, wants to take over as the new chairperson.
It is, therefore, plausible to say that Mpofu’s valiant effort to secure this victory for the RET brigade was enormous and significantly important, which is why they are passionately applauding him.

Warring factions in the ANC are likely going to brief him for services as they normally do before every National Elective Conference, as he typically plays a key role due to the thought that he comprehends the ANC constitution better than virtually all other lawyers.
