The name major 1 started to be known when it was used by the founder and senior pastor of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church as his stage name or rather prophetic name.
He didn’t leave South Africa well since he just escaped together with his wife after they got released from jail by bail.

Bushiri and his wife Mary were arrested in Rustenburg on charges relating to fraud, money laundering and the contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. The Hawks say their investigation extends back to 2015, when the incidents allegedly took place.
