Former President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday indicated his intention to lay a criminal complaint against State advocate Billy Downer.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation said more details would be divulged on Thursday in Pietermaritzburg when it held a press briefing.
Last month, the NPA dismissed claims made by Zuma that Downer had leaked information – including his medical records – to the media.
Zuma also insisted throughout his corruption trial that Downer should be removed from proceedings, claiming the advocate was guilty of criminal conduct.
Advocate Downer has been representing the State at the former president’s trial as Zuma faces fraud, graft and racketeering charges relating to the 1999 arms deal.
Wim Trengove, also representing the State, said Zuma had been raising old complaints and conspiracies.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court is expected to make its ruling on whether Downer will remain prosecutor in the case next week.
Zuma is out on medical parole after he was sentenced to 15 months for contempt of court.
