To contain a massive surge in infections, the following restrictions will be in place for 14 days from Monday, 28 June:
Curfew: 9pm to 4am
Gatherings: All social, religious, political and other gatherings are prohibited
Alcohol: The sale of alcohol is prohibited
Travel: Non-essential travel between provinces is prohibited
Masks: Mandatory in public places
Curfew:
– Apart from permitted workers, no person may be outside their place of residence during curfew
Gatherings:
– All social, religious, political and other gatherings of any size are prohibited
– Restaurants and other eateries may only serve food for takeaway or delivery
– Outside of work, you should only meet with members of your household
Funerals:
– Funerals are restricted to a maximum of 50 people
– No night vigils or post-funeral gatherings are permitted
Alcohol:
– The sale of alcohol is prohibited for on-site or off-site consumption.
Inter-provincial travel
– Travel between provinces is permitted only for business purposes, for the transport of goods or to return home
– All non-essential travel between provinces should be postponed
Closure of schools:
– All public and private schools will close early for the winter break, on a date to be confirmed by the Minister of Basic Education
Working from home:
– All employers should allow their employees to work from home unless it is absolutely necessary for them to perform work on-site
