The couple are setting the record straight!
It was another day in lockdown when we woke up to news that the KFC couple that got married in December 2019 had gotten a divorce.
Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi touched the hearts of many South Africans when they got engaged at the popular fast-food restaurant last year.
In a remarkable act of ubuntu Mzansi pulled together and got them everything from the wedding planning, bridal attire, food, venue, catering, honey moon, cars and even cows for the celebrations. It was a lot. Celebs like Black Coffee even provided the groom’s suits!
Just six months after the wedding of the year, unconfirmed rumors of their sudden divorce hit social media and Mzansi can not deal.
The couple has however come out to deny the rumors of their break up. Speaking to the Sunday Sun the couple said they are still very much in love and don’t know how the rumors of their divorce came about.
Hector says he found out about the rumors when a relative asked them about the social media posts and his wife even showed him what people were saying.
“We were shocked and confused. My wife showed me a post on social media about people talking about it.” Hector revealed.
“I am very happy and our marriage is strong, we have always known that not everyone would be happy for us but we are going strong” confirmed Nonhlanhla.
The couple is however looking forward to their honeymoon in New York once lockdown ends.
