President Cyril Ramaphosa announced South Africa has over 900 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
When presenting a summary of the African Union and G20 teleconferences the president said there are more than 900 confirmed cases of the virus.
The last number of confirmed cases was 709.
The president also encouraged the public to observe two-minutes of prayer or silent meditation.
Ramaphosa says the prayer should be held between 18:00 and 18:30 on Thursday.
