A heated exchange between Sinawo Thambo, a Member of Parliament representing the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and South African artist Thembisile Q has sparked widespread debate on social media over the country’s immigration policies.
The dispute unfolded on X, where Thembisile Q accused Thambo of prioritising the concerns of foreign nationals over those of South African citizens. In her remarks, she referenced a recent incident involving a Nigerian Bolt driver, noting that Thambo had been vocal in condemning the death. She contrasted this with what she described as his silence on the reported disappearance of a South African man identified as Mazwi, who has allegedly been missing for a month.
Her comments quickly gained traction online, drawing both support and criticism. Some users echoed her concerns, arguing that public officials should demonstrate equal attention to issues affecting citizens.
