Former Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Doctor Khumalo, who has since moved into football punditry, is among many South African football figures who prefer to keep their families out of the public eye.
However, a rare recent photo of Khumalo with his son has surfaced on social media. The image was taken when Khumalo received one of the highest honours of his football career.
On Thursday evening, a photo appeared on Facebook showing Khumalo posing with his son, Diego Khumalo. Diego is the former Bafana Bafana international’s child with his ex-wife, Nolly Branche Garises.
In the photo, Diego was among the attendees at the Tshwane University of Technology, where Khumalo was awarded an honorary degree.
Many social media users have noted that Diego bears a strong resemblance to his father.
