Plea to Trump: Unidentified South African Asks U.S. President to ‘Save’ the Country

A viral video of an unidentified South African man pleading with former U.S. President Donald Trump to “save our country” has stirred debate online.

In the clip, the man calls on Trump to intervene in South Africa as he did in Venezuela, where U.S. forces recently captured President Nicolás Maduro. Holding a #RamaphosaMustFall sign, the man says, “Cyril Ramaphosa must fall. Please come to South Africa and help us, Donald Trump.”

The appeal comes amid international criticism of the U.S. operation in Venezuela, which South Africa’s UN representative condemned as a violation of sovereignty. The man’s message frames Trump as a “president of the people” capable of rescuing South Africans from domestic crises.

The man’s identity and motives remain unclear. The video has sparked questions about whether he is a lone citizen, an activist, or part of a coordinated campaign. It also highlights polarized views on foreign intervention and domestic governance.
