As a long-time supporter of the gay and lesbian community, Desmond Tutu was particularly outspoken, which is understandable given that his daughter Mpho Tutu is now married to a Dutch lady after divorcing her first husband.
As a result of her marriage to a lady known as Marceline Van Furth, Mpho’s daughter, TUtu’s daughter, lost her licence to practise as a priest, which she was or is still holding.
The two appear to be in a deep and abiding love for one another, and they have remained together since their 2015 wedding. Marceline works as a professor at a university in the Netherlands, and it was there that the two first became acquainted.
