“If You Were the One Coming Home, That Would Be Justice for Me” – Lynn Forbes Mourns Deeply

In a deeply emotional message that has moved South Africans to tears, Lynn Forbes, the mother of the late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, has once again opened up about her overwhelming grief and pain. Taking to social media, Lynn shared a heartbreaking note saying, “If you were the one coming home today, that would be justice for me. Everything else is just process. This South African air is suffocating today. I can’t breathe.”

Her words come as the nation continues to follow the ongoing murder trial of AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, who were gunned down in Durban in February 2023. While the suspects are currently facing trial, Lynn’s message captures the raw truth that no legal outcome can ever replace her son or heal the deep wound left by his death. Fans flooded her post with messages of love and support, describing her as a “pillar of strength” and commending her courage in speaking so openly about her pain. Many said her words perfectly expressed the nation’s frustration with the slow wheels of justice and the emotional toll the case has taken on those closest to AKA.

Since her son’s passing, Lynn Forbes has become a symbol of strength, grace, and resilience, often using her platform to advocate for healing, faith, and emotional awareness. Yet, her latest message reveals that the journey through grief remains painfully real and unending. As the court proceedings continue, Lynn’s heartfelt words serve as a poignant reminder that true justice for a mother isn’t found in verdicts — it’s found in the impossible wish to hold her child again.
