Floyd Shivambu, president of the new Africa Mayibuye Movement (AMM), has named activist and author Nolubabalo Mcinga as the party’s deputy president. The appointment was announced this week.

Mcinga, also known as Queen Khazeka, is a well-known social development advocate and the estranged wife of Abathembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindeyo. She was recently honored for her resilience at the African Women Achievers Awards in Zimbabwe.

She described her new role as a powerful and humbling experience, stating that the AMM’s objectives closely match her own views. Mcinga vowed to work on transforming what she called flawed systems that her generation refuses to accept.

Before moving into politics, Mcinga was a prominent social justice campaigner. She has led initiatives to improve schools, empower young people with skills, and help those in need. Supporters say her background brings important grassroots experience and legitimacy to the new party.

The AMM was formed by Shivambu after he left the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) earlier this year. He has promised to build a people-centered party with a pan-African vision. appointing Mcinga is seen as a move to attract young South Africans dissatisfied with current politics and to strengthen women’s roles in leadership.

Political analysts suggest Mcinga’s community development background could appeal to voters seeking authentic leadership. The announcement has been positively received by AMM supporters, who see it as a major step in building the party’s structure. The combination of Shivambu’s political experience and Mcinga’s activist profile is viewed as a strong team to challenge established political systems.
