Gqom star and reality TV personality Babes Wodumo recently shared a poignant moment from her healing journey, posting a video of herself washing clothes belonging to her late husband, Mampintsha. The emotional footage shows the “Wena Wodumo” reality star performing the ritual alongside supportive friends in her yard.

In her heartfelt Instagram caption, Wodumo specifically thanked her sister-in-law Nonduh Simelane for unwavering support: “My family has stood by me, but she’s gone beyond – thank you for walking every step of this painful journey with me.” The singer described the profound significance of the act, explaining she wanted to preserve her husband’s scent, adding: “For anyone who’s lost someone, you know this stage is the hardest.”

The video sparked an outpouring of support from fans and followers:

  • @nkuli_oceans: “Your authentic healing inspires us – we’re so proud of you”

  • @smukelo_alixaba: “Consider creating a memorial space – Shimora was a legend who deserves honoring”

  • @zintwezinhleashleysibiya: “Family carries us through dark times – sending you strength, sis”

Wodumo’s public grieving process comes as she prepares for the 2025 premiere of her new reality series. The intimate glimpse into her mourning rituals highlights both the universal pain of loss and the cultural importance of remembrance practices in South African communities. Fans continue rallying behind the star as she navigates widowhood in the public eye.
