Economic Freedom Fighters member of parliament, Naledi Chirwa, has come forward with strong criticism against former Deputy President Floyd Shivambu. The MP, has accused Shivambu of creating discord within the party ranks and fostering division even before his departure.

“He knew he wasn’t going to come back as Deputy President,” the EFF MP stated, claiming that Shivambu’s attempts to secure his position within the party were thwarted by a lack of support from the grassroots level. “The ground rejected him because he’s divisive. He’s entitled to power and admits to being destructive and conniving. He never deserved us.”

Nyiko knew he wasn’t going to come back as DP. The ground rejected him because he’s divisive. He’s entitled to power and ADMITS to being destructive and conniving. He never deserved us. He’s fine on the other side with likeminded people who connive and deceive fellow comrades.

Shivambu, who was one of the EFF’s founding members, announced his departure from the party this year. However, his exit has since sparked internal debate, with some members claiming his presence in the party was detrimental. The MP further alleged that Shivambu’s conduct was often undermining, accusing him of aligning himself with “like-minded people who connive and deceive fellow comrades.” The accusation suggests that Shivambu’s approach to leadership was not only self-serving but also harmful to the unity and objectives of the EFF.

This comes at a time when the EFF is actively working to strengthen its internal cohesion, while marking the end of an era, has also raised questions about the stability and future direction of the party. The criticism reflects broader concerns within the EFF regarding unity and loyalty among its members, particularly as the party seeks to expand its influence and voter base.

Shivambu has not responded to these latest accusations, but sources close to the former Deputy President suggest he is likely to join forces with individuals outside the EFF who share his views on leadership and governance.
