Dr Zweli Mkhize has weighed in on the coalition talks taking place. Mkhize suggests an ANC-DA deal will push voters away & doesn’t represent the will of the people. Mkhize says an ANC, EFF, PA & MK coalition is better.
The African National Congress (ANC) is holding a special National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to discuss coalition negotiations and government formation following recent elections. The meeting, taking place at Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni, is expected to decide on the composition of the government, with President Cyril Ramaphosa set to announce the final decision later today.
The ANC has been in talks with various parties, including the Democratic Alliance (DA), and has faced internal and external opposition to a potential coalition with the DA. Former Minister Zizi Kodwa has resigned from his positions within the ANC, and there are protests against a possible ANC-DA coalition.
The ANC has also attempted to engage with the MK Party, led by former President Jacob Zuma, but has faced challenges in these discussions.
