What should you do to someone who is living with HIV ? Am not sure how can you treat that person but what is good for you and for that person you should treat that person with care.
I remember in 2008 I was doing grade 12 my mother got sick and didn’t know what do and how can i help her but i remember this i knew the signs of someone who is HIV positive.
Then you know we black we believe that if you are sick you will be switched by someone or your family, then her family took her to consult a sangoma and they spend a lot of money there , but she was never getting better.
Then one day i decided to stay at and skip my classes I was hurt and traumatized because she’s the only person I had ,then I sit down and talk to her ,I told my mother to go to the clinic if they take her blood tests please agreed. Well she listened me that was one step we took.
The the results came back and was HIV positive ,you know before people there was still having that mentality that if you have HIV you are that person who is going around but she wasn’t like that. Then I told her that I will attend her classes fortunately one of my neighbors offer me to attend the classes so that I can go to school.
When I came back to school I should take good care of the chores at home my little sister she was very you and as well I did ask her to take my little sister to do test as well then her results was negative I was happy and I thank God.
I make sure that I remind her to take her medication and I remind that God still loved her is not the end of her life and today when she advice people she always telling them I am the one who encouraged her through this challenge. But instead of criticizing people why don’t we give them the solution to live again to see bright future through circumstances.
