Orlando Pirates supporters were left shocked after realizing that one of the most improved players has left Mayfair. It came out of nowhere, that Pirates had released Terrence Dzvukamanja after an impressive season at Pirates. Although there were immense challenges at the beginning of the previous campaign, he didn’t allow that to cloud his mind in a way that he couldn’t cement his place within the Soweto giants. After all the work that he put into his performances which then made him a household name, he has opted to move to Pirates rivals SuperSport United. Whereby he’d be tasked with scoring goals and leaving the SuperSport attack.

This move meant that the 29-year-old marksman will be rejoining his former head coach Gavin Hunt who has worked with him before at Bidvest Wits. The duo understands each other in terms of strengths and weaknesses, hence they’ll be able to continue where they left things before Wits was sold. Now, the Buccaneers have released their official statement about the untimely departure of the Zimbabwean marksman as they were not expecting him to leave the club anytime soon. Especially, after he worked on his game which allowed him to elevate his performances. “Terrence Dzvukamanja approached the Club pleading to be released to play in Zimbabwe to be close to home in order to address pressing family matters,” the Sea Robbers’ statement reads.

According to the Buccaneers, they were willing to let their attacker resolve his matters at home. Even offered him a better package so that he can remain with the Soweto giants. However, he just wanted to exit Mayfair which left the Sea Robbers with no choice but to release him. “The Club was therefore surprised by an approach from SuperSport United for the player’s services since the Club had made plans to include the player in their CAF Champions League squad. With this new development, the Club will release Dzvukamanja to SuperSport United,” read the official Pirates statement.
