Former Bafana Bafana centre back defender Matthew Booth who has made a smooth transition into punditry upon his retirement got outed as a cheater late last year.

Matthew Booth, who currently serves as a football pundit at Supersport TV was exposed by his wife, author, former model and businesswoman Sonia Booth of having an extra marital affair since from Valentine’s Day with Bongani Moller-Mthombeni who was relatively unknown.

The former Bafana Bafana centre back defender and his alleged mystery Bongani Moller-Mthombeni who is a qualified Chemical engineer and is also a fitness enthusiastic were spotted together on several occasions before the cheating scandal broke out.

This week, the pair were recently spotted together despite the fact that they denied having an affair.

What’s the story?

On Wednesday evening, Matthew Booth’s alleged mistress Bongani Moller-Mthombeni who holds a chemical engineering qualification from the University of Cape Town took to her Instagram stories where she shared a video where she and the former footballer were spotted together.

From the shared video on the popular platform, the mother of two and the former Bafana Bafana centre back defender were spotted together at a local gym where they both attend and where they were workout partners and engaged in similar exercises.

Former Bafana Bafana centre back defender Matthew Booth who enjoyed an illustrious football career locally and abroad made 181 appearances during his playing days in Europe and he rattled the back of the net 8 times before making his return to South Africa where he joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to his player profile on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, Matthew Booth made 61 appearances during his playing days at FC Rostov between 2002 and 2004 and he rattled the back of the net only once.

In addition, the 46 year old Fish Hoek born retired footballer made 120 appearances during his playing days at Krylya Sovetov Samara between 2004 and 2009 and he rattled the back of the net 7 times.
