Rachel Kolisi has shared an honest look into her life after divorcing Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, including the reason she still uses the Kolisi surname.

Speaking during a recent interview, Rachel explained that keeping the surname is mainly about making life easier for her children. She said travelling with them can already be difficult because people sometimes question whether the children are really hers due to their different skin colours. According to Rachel, changing her surname would only create more problems during trips and public interactions.

Rachel also reflected on the emotional journey she has faced since the end of her marriage. The mother and businesswoman said many people expect someone to “move on” quickly after a divorce, often linking healing to finding a new partner. However, she made it clear that she is happy focusing on herself and her children instead of rushing into another relationship.

The former couple announced their split in 2024 after years together and raising their children as a family. Despite the divorce, Rachel said she wants the public to stop defining her only through her past marriage. She believes there is more to her life and career than being known as Siya Kolisi’s ex-wife.

Her comments have sparked discussion online, with many social media users supporting her decision to keep the surname while others continue debating it. Some fans praised her for putting her children first and handling the situation in a calm and mature way.

Rachel’s story shows that life after divorce is not always simple, but her focus remains on her children, personal growth and building a positive future for herself.
