President Cyril Ramaphosa might have dug his own grave a few years back when he emphasized on the need to implement the step aside guidelines adopted at Nasrec conference.
This video was dug up by those who are trying to prove a point that the president knows too well about the step aside resolutions, and should not try to be two faced especially now that it is him being asked to step aside pending investigations into his Phala Phala scandal.
Like the old adage has it that “what’s good for the goose must be also good for the gander” president Cyril Ramaphosa should not speak about due process when he has been at the forefront calling for his fellow comrades like Ace Magashule to step aside without exhausting all the processes.
Ramaphosa’s loyalists are claiming that he cannot step aside because he has not been found guilty. This however clearly shows the double standards and inconsistency when it comes to the application of the guidelines. Several comrades who were asked to step aside were also not guilty, but they did so because they were criminally charged and some are just still facing allegations.
When president Cyril Ramaphosa spoke so boldly about step aside guidelines being implemented whether some comrades liked it or not, surely he never thought that one day he will find himself at crossroads being haunted by the same guidelines.
Critics argue that Cyril Ramaphosa was unknowingly digging two graves when he insisted that his opponents step aside. An African problem has it that; “when you dig a grave for your enemy, always dig two graves. One for the enemy and the other one for yourself”.
Ramaphosa’s loyalists who are showing a lot of confusion on whether or not their leader should step aside in line with party’s guidelines, state that he won’t step aside.
“Phala Phala is dead and I’ll tell you why. Only the ANC can remove Cyril and it won’t. The Hawks can’t remove him, the NPA can’t remove him and neither can parliament. Certainly Fraser can’t remove him,” they said.
