Millions of South Africans are receiving monthly child support grants which play a very important role for many people who are really in need. The current child support grant is R460.
In the previous year, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that child caregivers (the grant recepients) will also get the R350 unemployment grant as long as they qualify.
In order to qualify for the unemployment grant, one has to be unemployed, not be UIF registered and have no other source of income.
Those caregivers who qualify for the special grant are currently getting R810 per month (R460 + R350).
This week, it was made known to the public that the child support grant will increase with R20 once off in April.
This means that some caregivers will get R830 in April which is R460 +R350 + R20 increment.
