Economic Freedom Fighters heavyweight, Dali Mpofu is taking the leadership of the African National Congress head on in what seem like a factional side has been picked and lines have been drawn.
Since the time advocate Dali Mpofu took up the case of former president Jacob Zuma and represented him in court, critics began to label Mpofu as a sympathiser of the RET faction.
The speculation went further after another RET champion, and suspended secretary general of the ANC, Ace Magashule entrusted Dali Mpofu to be his legal representative in fighting his suspension from the ANC.
Dali Mpofu has now taken off the legal gloves and takes the ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa head on criticizing the manner in which he is leading the once glorious movement under his administration.
Mpofu argues that Cyril Ramaphosa’s new dawn is not what the African National Congress should be. He adds that when the ANC came in power, it believed in empowering the masses so they could be the drivers of the country’s economy.
Dali Mpofu however feel that under Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration, the economy is being placed entirely in the hands of the private sector. This comes following Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address where he said the private sector has the responsibility to drive the economy of the country.
Critics feel this is a clear “sell out” position by Cyril Ramaphosa at a time numerous state owned enterprises are dysfunctional and there are speculations that these state owned enterprises will not be bailed out anymore which might leave them with only one option, which is privatisation.
The EFF bigwig argues that the Democratic Alliance tendencies being sneaked into the ANC by Cyril Ramaphosa should be strongly condemned.
“The real ANC believed in the people as the drivers of the economy. The ‘New Dawn’ fake ANC of Ramaphosa believes in big business as the drivers! Down with DA-ANC! Not Yet Uhuru,” said Mpofu.
