It is reported that Mamelodi Sundowns player Gift Motupa and his uncle were involved in a car accident on R37 road Burgersford.
The two are said to have escaped with minor injuries.
Motupa joined Sundowns from the now defunct Bidvest Wits in the off-season, alongside Haashim Domingo and Ricardo Goss, but has yet to feature for the club due to injury.
His expected debut will now be pushed further back after he escaped with minor injuries when his car veered off the road earlier today, before being written off.
It is believed the South Africa international lost control of his white Golf 7 GTi and rolled off the R37 as he was en route home to Polokwane, and received medical attention on the scene.
The 26-year-old was understood to have been traveling alone at the time as the Masandawan squad were given time off ahead of the intentional break.
