Do we have Mabena at the wheel, here? Footage of an SA National Defence Force (SANDF) exercise has gone viral on social media, after the driver of a Rooikat armoured fighting vehicle almost rammed the vehicle into dozens of horrified onlookers.
This week marks the official celebrations for the capabilities of our armed forces: The army, navy and air force are all putting on displays in Polokwane, as South Africa flexes its military muscle. However, one feels that this clip won’t exactly strike fear into the hearts of our enemies.
SANDF Soldiers Escape Death By A Whisker In A Leaked Video
In a recent video that was recently leaked on social media, South African soldiers who seem to be under training escaped death by a whisker after nearly being run over by a military tanker. The 40-second long video shows SANDF members running for cover after a visibly unexperienced soldier operating the military tank almost crashes into members.
The video which has been making rounds on social media has been received with mixed reactions, with some social media users lashing out against such recklessness which could have ended in the loss of life.
The SANDF said it noted with concern the negative reaction the video clip received on social media.
“It is regrettable that there are individuals who hide behind pseudonyms whilst intentionally portraying the SANDF negatively by posting and/or commenting adversely against it with ill intentions of casting doubts about its personnel and equipment to the unsuspecting public,” Dlamini said.
