Zuma’s MK Party Sends Shock Waves: What It Means For ANC Ahead 15 October 2026

The South African political parties and the well-known television station Moja Love are heading toward a big political dispute over a recorded political debate that has reportedly been concealed owing to an explosive backstage fight. The dispute is a result of the fact that the debate was taped.

The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party and ActionSA have officially joined forces to deliver an ultimatum to the broadcaster, requesting that the two-part special be released in its entirety and without any edits by the 15th of October in 2026.

It was on August 31, 2026, when the channel filmed a high-stakes political debate in Orlando East, Soweto, which was hosted by Nimrod Nkosi, a popular television personality. This is when the issue began. Ayanda Allie represents Action South Africa, Helen Zille represents the Democratic Alliance, Mlungisi Mabaso represents the Inkatha Freedom Party, Andile Chalwe represents the MK Party, and Solly Mkhize represents the Patriotic Alliance. The panel had a heavy-hitting array of speakers.

Tensions between the politicians and the live audience escalated during the four-hour recording session, according to a joint media statement that was released by the parties. The statement says that the recording session grew chaotic.

It is stated that DA Federal Chairperson Helen Zille used profanity toward Andile Chalwe, who is a member of the MK Party, during a time of severe irritation. According to reports, Allie was present throughout the altercation, and Zille later revealed to the presenter that she had used foul language as a form of vengeance for Chalwe’s comments.

The episodes have not yet been planned or flighted, despite the fact that Moja Love had initially promised to broadcasting the two-part series in September of 2026.

According to the allegations, the broadcaster has defended its choice by asserting that it did not receive the required signed release papers from the famous individuals who participated in the event. This narrative, on the other hand, has been vehemently denied by the political organisations, which have maintained that all clearance papers were completely completed before leaving the studio.

Currently, the MK Party and ActionSA are putting out a demand that the channel adhere to the terms of the first agreement. Importantly, they believe that the broadcast must include the profanity exchange that was recorded in its entirety as well as the subsequent explanation that was delivered on stage.

The political parties have brought attention to the fact that the production did not come without a significant financial burden for their respective organisations. In response to Moja Love’s special request, the parties personally provided funding for the transportation and catering arrangements of hundreds of fans who were attending the studio performance as the audience. In addition, Mlungisi Mabaso, who works for the Independent Film Producers, had to pay out of his own pocket in order to reschedule a trip that he had missed because of the protracted delays that occurred during production.

In light of the fact that the deadline of October 15 is growing near, Moja Love is coming under increasing amounts of pressure to clarify the situation and make it clear whether they will broadcast the much anticipated political confrontation or whether they would be subject to the possibility of legal or institutional escalation from the concerned parties.
