The organization stated that the targeted killing has sent shockwaves through its ranks, leaving several high-ranking members deeply worried about their personal safety and the security of other organizers within the movement.
In light of the tragedy, the group is urging national police authorities to conduct a rigorous investigation into Somgxada’s death to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly identified and prosecuted. Representatives from the movement emphasized that the current situation has created a profound atmosphere of fear among their members, making it difficult for them to continue their work. The organization maintained that community and political leaders must be allowed to advocate for public causes without facing constant intimidation, threats, or physical violence.
Currently, the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal attack remain scarce.
