Claims of ties between Mohammad Sayed, an entrepreneur, Major General Feroz Khan, and EFF leader Julius Malema have been presented to the Madlanga Commission. Various media reports and accusations concerning the interconnections between the three persons were given to the inquiry. These assertions included financial support, personal connections, and interactions regarding political activity.

Claims that Sayed’s affiliated company Carnilinx gave R650,000 to the EFF to help it register as a political party were among the accusations levelled.

Additionally, the submissions mentioned allegations that Malema was given R1 million by the late Kyle Phillips of Carnilinx to help settle a tax problem with SARS. The charges went on to state that businessman Adriano Mazzotti rented a residence to Malema and his family and that Mazzotti also made available to Malema a penthouse in Sandton.

At the EFF gala dinner, Major General Khan allegedly sat at a Carnilinx-sponsored table, according to the inquiry. Khan allegedly said he was engaged in crime intelligence business while this was happening.

According to the documents, Khan will be given a chance to address the accusations while under oath if he disagrees with them.

The EFF has justified its engagement with persons from diverse industries, but Julius Malema has been the target of public criticism over purported links and dealings with other individuals.

The commission is still looking into Feroz Khan, and his actions and messages are being scrutinised.

In order to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the purported encounters and to ascertain if any regulations, protocols, or ethical duties were disregarded, the commission is persistently reviewing material and testimony. The charges are still being investigated, and the commission has not reached a final decision on the issues brought up. Further testimony and comments from the individuals listed will continue to be the focus of the inquiry as it works to establish all the facts during the ongoing sessions.
