Sinawo Thambo Tells Mbalula to Stop ‘Crying’ and Call Zille for Conference of the Right

Sinawo Thambo has taken a swipe at ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula, urging him to stop complaining about the proposed “Conference of the Left” and instead engage in political action by calling Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille to organise what he called a “Conference of the Right.”

In a strongly worded political remark, Sinawo Thambo suggested that rather than criticising opposition alignments, Fikile Mbalula should take a more direct approach by initiating dialogue with rival political formations.

The comments come amid growing political debate in South Africa about ideological blocs, coalition politics, and the positioning of parties ahead of future elections.

Sinawo Thambo’s remarks appear to mock recent political tensions, framing them as unnecessary complaints while proposing a more structured engagement between opposing ideological camps.

The suggestion of a “Conference of the Right” involving Helen Zille highlights ongoing political rivalry between major parties, particularly the ANC and the Democratic Alliance, as they continue to contest influence in national politics.

Fikile Mbalula has been vocal in recent political discussions, often weighing in on coalition dynamics and ideological groupings within South Africa’s evolving political landscape.

The exchange reflects the increasingly heated rhetoric between political figures as parties position themselves ahead of future electoral contests in South Africa.

While framed in a humorous and sarcastic tone, Sinawo Thambo’s comments underline deeper political disagreements over strategy, alliances, and ideological identity.

As debates intensify, the idea of formal ideological conferences continues to gain traction in public discourse, even if largely in rhetorical or symbolic form. The remarks add another layer to the ongoing political banter between youth leaders and senior political figures in South Africa’s dynamic political environment..
