Reality TV personality Mpumelelo Sbindi Mseleku and his wife Amahle Gasela are at the centre of social media speculation after unconfirmed rumours suggested the couple may have separated.
Neither Mpumelelo nor Amahle has publicly commented on the claims. The alleged split comes less than a year after they married and welcomed their first child.
Much of the online discussion has focused on Mpumelelo’s mother, Nokukhanya MaYeni Mseleku, whose remarks on the reality show Uthando Nesthembu recently resurfaced. On the show, MaYeni said she was excluded from the lobola negotiations and struggled to recognise Amahle as her daughter-in-law under those circumstances.
A screenshot circulating on X claimed Amahle felt unwelcome due to MaYeni’s disapproval. These claims remain unverified.
The rumours have also reignited conversations about the pressures of polygamous marriages among younger couples. Some social media users suggested Amahle may have struggled with sharing Mpumelelo’s attention with his other partner, Tirelo Kale. Others accused Mpumelelo of allegedly favouring Tirelo.
Fans pointed to Amahle’s recent social media activity as possibly hinting at emotional distance, though no direct statement has been made.
Reactions online have been mixed. Some users expressed sympathy for Amahle, with one writing that she is too young to be with a man who has children all over. Others suggested the timing of the rumours may be linked to building anticipation for an upcoming spinoff show, Izingane Zesthembu.
