The South African Broadcasting Corporation will televise the upcoming Betway Premiership match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

Chiefs travel to Pretoria on Wednesday evening to face Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The fixture is often regarded as the second-biggest in the league after the Soweto Derby and is expected to draw a large crowd.

The first meeting between the two teams this season took place at FNB Stadium in August. That match ended in a goalless draw and was attended by more than 75,000 fans.

In their last league clash, the teams played to a 0-0 draw. Before that, Chiefs recorded a famous 2-1 win over Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semi-final and went on to win the competition.

Chiefs need a win to secure their CAF Confederation Cup spot. A defeat could allow AmaZulu to close the gap for third place. Chiefs currently sit third on the log with 47 points from 26 games. Sundowns lead the standings with 64 points from 27 matches after beating Polokwane City 3-0 on Sunday.

Wednesday’s match could also affect the title race. A win for Sundowns would strengthen their position at the top, while any dropped points could give Orlando Pirates momentum in the final three rounds of the season.

The match will be broadcast live on SABC 3 and SuperSport 2. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
