Katiso Molefe Trial Set for October in Major Murder Case

The 61-year-old businessman and three co-accused will face trial starting October 26 through December 4 on charges including three murders, conspiracy, firearms violations, and racketeering linked to the Big 5 cartel.

Prosecutors say Molefe ordered killings of DJ Sumbody, DJ Vintos, and engineer Armand Swart in 2022, with ballistic evidence tying an AK-47 to these and up to 10 other cases. While his co-accused stay in custody, Molefe remains out on R400,000 bail, drawing public frustration over the eight-month wait and fears of witness intimidation amid Gauteng’s fight against cartel violence.
