South African socialite and former actress Tebogo Thobejane has sparked a lot of talk online after she subtly introduced a new romantic partner on her Instagram account. The post suggests she might be starting a fresh chapter in her personal life. On Monday, March 9, 2026, Thobejane shared a photo of herself embracing a man in what appeared to be an underground parking garage. The man’s face was intentionally kept out of the frame, maintaining his privacy, but the image gave fans a glimpse into her new relationship. She captioned the photo simply as “Daddy mine,” a short but affectionate message that quickly caught her followers’ attention.
Along with the main post, Thobejane shared several Instagram stories showing more intimate moments with the man. These snippets hinted that their relationship might be serious. Although his identity remains a mystery, people on social media started trying to piece together clues from the posts. Some observed that he seemed to live a luxurious lifestyle, mentioning that he appeared to drive a Rolls-Royce with a starlight headliner. There was also speculation that he might have connections to Nigerian music producer Mr Marquinhos, and some comments suggested he could have Nigerian roots.
This new romance comes after a tumultuous period in Thobejane’s life, which included a highly publicized and traumatic situation involving her former partner, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala. Matlala is currently facing serious charges for allegedly planning an attempted attack on her. Throughout that difficult time, Thobejane shared her frustrations publicly, saying that many men were hesitant to date her because of the controversy and danger surrounding her past.
However, her recent post seems to show that she is moving forward. Reports say her son, Botlhale, has already met the new man, suggesting that the relationship might be more than just a casual fling.
Fans and fellow celebrities quickly responded to her post with mixed reactions. Some praised the man for his bravery, while others expressed happiness to see her happy again. Actress Dineo Moloisane even publicly congratulated her, saying she was glad to see Thobejane fall in love once more. On the other hand, some followers advised her to keep her relationship more private to avoid unnecessary attention.
Despite all the speculation, Thobejane’s post shows her resilience and her willingness to embrace love after a challenging time.
