24 Hours After O’Sullivan Told MP To ‘Pay The Bank,’ The Sheriff Arrives To Serve David Skosana

MK Party MP David Skosana has stated that he received legal documents from a sheriff this morning, informing eNCA that these papers are connected to a banking issue.

Skosana mentioned that the sheriff came earlier today to officially hand over the papers. Although specifics regarding the case have yet to be disclosed, he confirmed receiving the documents and noted that he plans to reply through proper legal methods.

This news follows a day after a heated argument between Skosana and forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan during the proceedings of the SAPS ad hoc committee. The clash occurred after O’Sullivan abruptly left the investigation, which is looking into claims of corruption within the South African Police Service (SAPS).

In the dispute, O’Sullivan accused Skosana of being untruthful and remarked, “You’re lying through your teeth. You should go and pay the bank back.” This statement prompted strong reactions and escalated the already existing tensions in the committee.

It is still uncertain if the legal documents delivered today are directly connected to the remarks made during the committee meeting or if they involve another financial issue. Skosana did not elaborate on the details of the claim but confirmed that the sheriff’s delivery took place this morning.

This event has increased the ongoing conflict between the two individuals, which has received significant media coverage due to several intense exchanges in Parliament. Analysts suggest that these incidents highlight how political disputes can extend beyond committee discussions and enter the legal domain.

Legal professionals emphasize that receiving legal papers does not mean someone is guilty, but it does indicate that official legal actions are beginning, which must be addressed in a court setting.

As tensions mount around the investigation of the ad hoc committee, attention focuses on the next steps both Skosana and O’Sullivan will take in the following days.
